BERLIN (AP) — The German government said Wednesday that it is concerned by the recent detention of a prominent environmental campaigner in Vietnam, warning that a recent multi-billion-dollar deal to help the country phase out coal use requires the involvement of civil society activists.Hoang Thi Minh Hong was detained by police in Ho Chi Minh City last week and held on a temporary order charged with tax evasion, the United Nations Human Rights Office said, citing credible sources. OAK BROOK, Ill. — A man was found shot to death inside a vehicle in Oak Brook.Around 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, police said the department received a 911 call of shots being fired into a vehicle near 22nd Street and Camden Court.Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.No one is in custody. OAK FOREST, Ill. — One person was seriously injured in an explosion at an apartment complex in Oak Forest.The incident happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday near the corner of 160th and Laramie. AUSTIN (KXAN) - Venus, the second planet from the sun, is taking center stage this morning. Named for the goddess of love, Venus is making itself easily seen in the night sky. It can be spotted by looking to the west between sunset and 11 p.m.NASA is prepping to visit what it calls Earth's "evil twin" in 2029."We're going to be exploring the atmosphere of Venus with a titanium descent sphere," said Giada Arney, Deputy Principal Investigator with NASA's DAVINCI mission.The mission is two parts. SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Wagon Train BBQ, located at 671 Mariaville Road in Schenectady, is reopening on Wednesday after a fire at the restaurant on Sunday. SCHODACK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Gansevoort man was arrested on Monday after crashing a stolen car while impaired by drugs, according to New York State Police. Bruce Bidwell, 51, faces multiple charges. On Monday, around 10:44 p.m., troopers responded to the rest area on I-90 westbound in Schodack for reports of an injured man, resulting from a crash. State police say the driver initially provided false identifying information but was later identified as Bidwell. Bidwell was taken to Albany Medical Center for minor injuries and was later discharged to police custody. Troopers say the car Bidwell was driving was stolen out of South Glens Falls that day. State Police say an investigation found the stolen car had collided with a utility pole on County Route 46 in Fort Edward before arriving at the rest area.
